Nowadays, tourism has become one of the most popular ways of exchanging culture between different societies.
However, there are really important things that we forget when we travel abroad. The enviromental issue is one of them.

Small things like using public transport instead of renting a car, not to produce too much acoustic pollution or recycling would be a good way of helping the environment all around the world.

But unluckily, it’s in the coast where it becomes a serious problem. Most of the foreign people treat the beaches like a publoc tip, where you can throw any tipe of rubbish, getting the sea dirty. Furthermore, there are used to renting watermotorbikes that leave petrol all along the water whitch is normally full of swimmers.

These are the kind of unnecesary things that we can avoid to create a cleaner place.

To sum up, I encourage all the tourists to take care of the place they go, because in the end we are making our own world worde. Let’s act!

'How could the problem of hunger be solved?'
Nowadays, hunger is one of the most serious worldwide problems, because 1.200 million people are affected by it. However, it seems that governments od developed and undeveloped countries don't care about it.
As for looking for solutions, we can join NGOs in order to help those people who need to be recognised by the society. On the other hand, authorities should promote different types of crops which could feed those groups of people and help yhem to become independent to produce their own food and to be able to survive by themselves. Also, to be absolutely sure about the efficiency of this measure, organizations such as United Nations should guard the governments of poor countries to avoid corruption.
To sum up, we must solve this problem immediately. If we are still doing nothing, the number of hungry people will not stop growing.

Carlota Ortega dijo...

HOW CAN THE PROBLEM OF HUNGER BE SOLVED?
The data scares: every 9 seconds a child under 5 years old dies for undernourished, 800 million people go to bed hungry and there is about 963 million people (1 each 6) that suffers of hunger in the world. Why if we know that we have enough food in the world to feed everyone, we have this data?
It’s hard to solve this problem but there are some things that can be done, like reducing the debt or implement fairer trade rules among countries. At the same time there should be an improvement in the construction of infrastructures for a better food supply.
Regarding food, it’s important to know that therapeutic food exists. It’s a specially food that contain 40 essential nutrients and isn’t too expensive. So providing it to the people could be a good solution to a nutritional emergency, like the one in the Horn of Africa.
Everyone knows the problem of hunger but nobody does anything, neither the governments. So, to conclude, dear world: don’t be quietly, help to solve the problem of hunger in the world.

How could the problem of hunger in the world be solved?

The new testament talks about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: the conquest, the war, the death and the famine. This last one is more real than we could imagine.

Nowadays, more than 925 million people are sick of hunger around the world and every day 24.000 people die bacause of it. It is one of the biggest problems of the world, and we must try to solve it.

We can't do too much for it, but our opinion is important to give help to all the people dying of hunger. If we cooperate, we could ask the government for an action to give food and money to the poorest places in the world. But this idea is a big step, and we should start with something easier. We can, for example, donate food to a charity organization or just godfather a kid or a family. This is quite little, but if everybody did it, we would be solving this eternal problem.

New technologies have been in my life since I was one year old. My grandmothers TV. And it has changed all my life.

Technology has cut the wings of my imagination. That means I haven't drawn a third of what I could. Thanks to my TV I haven't played with my parents, my grandmother or my cat.

After realising about these facts, the older o got the more technology I had. First it was the playstation, then a computer. They have taken my friends and my football matches away. And my relationship with my parents has gone to worse.

And after telling you all this I still have an xbox360 a mobile phone and a gaint screen. So my conclusion is that technology being good or bad, in my case bad, is extremely addictive which is very dangerous and not good at all.

Carlos Álvarez dijo...

How have new technologies influenced your life?

Mac, iPod, Wi-Fi, e-mail and lots of words relates to technology are words that we are used to incluing in our diary expressions, but twenty years ago they were practically unknown.

In this last twenty years, society has progressed very fast. In the 90', we couldn't imagine that we would be downloading music and watching TV with a mobile phone or talking eith people from all over the world at the moment.

Personally, new technologies are very important in my life and, I think, in the life of millions of people in the world. Having the posibility of getting all the information you could ever need, or being connected with all your friends is one of the greatest advantages and more useful things i have. Everytime I need to find something or talk with someone I just need to pick up my phone and do it. So, in my opinion, new technologies are the greatest discover of the last ages and they will become the future of our world.

- "How would you name your children?"

This is a question that I have never thought about before. I wish I did not have to think about it again unless for the next 15 years. I think that when that moment arrives, I would choose the same names that I am going to talk about.

First of all, I wouldn’t choose my own name or my couple’s name. I’m sure this is so confusing and nobody would know who are you talking to. I wouldn’t like to choose a fashionable name in that moment. I don’t want to see that my son or my daughter have the same name that all his collegues at school. I wouldn’t choose either a name from a film, TV serie, book, a celebrity... From my point of view, this is awful. I would very careful with the name plus the surenames in order to avoid funny sentences or expressions. I would like a name with an easy pronunciation, not very long and not very common.

For the moment this is my way of thinking, and I’m sure that it will be the same when I face this situation. I just hope that my wife’s opinion would be the same.

Gonzalo Bosque (2ºE) dijo...

Technologies have influenced my life since the very moment of my birth.
Is was in the car that took my mother to the hospistal that day, in the hospital that took care of my mother and me (that day)...
There are many things that we wouldn't know how to do without it:
How would we communicate if technologies had never existed?
How would the food we buy and eat had been produced?

Nowadays the world ir runned by technology. I'll take as an example a regular friday in my life:
I get up at 7:00 a.m. My alarm clock is buzzing. Then I have an orange juice for breakfast which I get from my squeezer. After that, I dress up and I take the subway to the school.
I've needed an alarm clock, a squeezr and the whole subway net in about an hour.
And after school there's much more to do...

I take the car because I'm meeting my band at 18:00 but I realise that I'm late, so I grab my cellphone and call one of them.
When I get to the place where we rehearse, I plug-in mu electric guitar to the amplifier and we start playing.

I NEED the car so I can move. I NEED my phone so that I can contact other people who's got a phone too. And in this concrete case I even NEED people to NEED a phone so that I'm not the only one who's got it and I can use it!

My point is that technology is fully related to NEEDS, to confortness and to desire.
And unluckyly (or luckyly for some) our society is defined by technology, and our lifes are too.

'Is the climate change a real problem? Why??

Tic tac, tic tac. Our time to react against climate change is running out. Almost all the days we see in the mass media the consequences of this worldwide problem. Nature is warning us that we can't continue our kind of life if we want to save the Earth.

In my opinion, it is impossible to think that climate change does not exist, because there are lots of evidences such as temperatures increase, floods, droughts or thaw which make us think that something is going wrong. This problem is caused by us, by humans that don't care about the world around us. We can't ignore that the world in which we live has suffered an enormous change that is causing animals harm. In few years, we will also have health problems caused by these horrible changes.

To conclude, we must realize that Earth depends on our future behaviour. If we don't do anything, climate change will sentence us to death.

Cristina Moreno, 2ºA-Bachillerato

Mateo Cámara dijo...

Is the climate change a real problem? why?

Ninety seven percent of scientists agree that climate change is happening. Few years ago, we could hear how people said that climate change was false propaganda. But now, most of us know that we have a real problem in our planet.

In my opinion, we should use less energy, which is the real problem of the greenhouse effect, and we should give even more money for researching new clean technologies. This is probably the solution. The first world is used to living in a comfortable way, in a way where the energy is basic. So I think it is better to look for new ways of producing energy and using less.

Now that we know that the earth has a big problem with the climate change and that it can bring negative consequences, population and politicians have to understand that it is not an option to prevent or not the climate change, it is a necessity which can’t be left for the future.

THE HISTORICAL FIGURE THAT I ADMIRE: HENRI DUNANT
It was 24th June, 1859, and there was taking place the Solferino´s war: France against Italy.

Henri Dunant was travelling in his carriage, when he saw a lot of people, soldiers and civilians, that were dying in the streets and nobody was helping them. So, he stopped the carriage, and started to help everybody. He convinced women and young girls to help the wounded, no matter the country that they were from. They needed medicines, so Henri payed them, and helped to build hospitals in churches.

When the war finished, there was a meeting in Geneva and Dunant, with another four men, promote his ideas. Because of that, the “International Red Cross” was created in 1863.

I admire a lot of people: musicians, scientists, doctors, or even kings and queens; but, if I had to choose someone to admire, I would choose Henri Dunant, a common man that thought that just one person is enough to change the world.

Gonzalo Bosque dijo...

I am a musician. That's something you should know if you want to understand why I have chosen this figure.

It doesn't matter what age you are, you have surely listened to the song "Smells like teen spirit" at least once. Haven't you?
Me too, and maybe too many times, and what I do really like about this song is that it reminds me of the 'spirit' that his writer and composer, Kurt Cobain, inspires me.

He was nobody at the beginning, but he was full of hope, of illussion! Maybe you don't know this, but Mr. Kurt Cobain didn't know a lot about music, I mean both theory and practice.
He wasn't a good guitarist nor a good singer, but what I admire is the fact that what he felt in his heart took him to the place where he is nowadays.
Full of hope, Kurt formed the band Nirvana and recorded a couple of albums.
All he did was playing the guitar all day and writing songs (not the best ones of the history, but very original for his time).

I wish I could be as inspired as this blonde guy was and I hope that I will have the courage and the luck that it takes to reach a most pleasant musical life. Because, if I want to do it is, in fact, because this history, his history, inspired me to try.

THE REAL PRBLEM OF CLIMATE CHANGE

Nowadays, climate change is one of the most important problems of the world.

It affects us in a lot of ways, and we even don't realize that. But the worst thing, is that we are who promote climate change. Of course, it has existed since the world exists, but it is our fault that it affects the planet.

We cut down trees indiscriminately, we overexploit the land, we misuse drinkable water and industrialized countries give off harmfull gases. Because of that, polar caps melt and sea level increases; temperatures become extreme; some animals and plants die out; there is a masive and disproportionate increase in natural disasters such as cyclones, hurriacanes or flooding rivers.

And we hardly do anything to solve it, because the countries that are really noticing these consequences are impoverished countries. When it really affects us badly, we'll try to fix it, but I'm afraid to say it will be too late. Nature will give us what we have given to her: throes.

THE UTOPIA OF IMPROVING SOCIETY BEIS A POLITICIAN

Every day, since I was a child, I've been trying to understand politicians. It doesn't matter if they are from a left-wing party, or a right-wing one. The point is that they seem too busy proving they are the cleverest party, and they waste more and more time and money in usless campaigns and, honestly, I don't get it.

I guess it is not easy to be a politician, but if you are one, you shouldn't use your influence for your own benefit. You have power, and you could do awesome things with it, if you wished. I know it's kind of a topic, but if I were an influential politician I would reduce my own salary, or even better, I would reduce the salary of every ppolitician of the country.

I know I'm not very original, and maybe I am a fool, but I truly believe that I would change something acting like Robin Hood: the only way to improve society, is giving back to the poor people what rich people took away from them.

Moon

Since the first time I thought about my baby's name I really knew tht my daughter's name would be ''Luna''
There is a very strange history behind this. I still wasn't born. It was three o'clock in the morning. Everyone was sleeping in my house: my mother, my father and my sister, Sara. Sudently, she started to cry. My mather woke up and went to my sister's bedroom to see what was happening to her. She was sitting in her bed and when my mother came into the room she told her she wanted to see the moon. My mother was really surprised but she couldn't say ''no'' to her sad daughter. So they went to the park and for more than half an hour she stayed in calm, then they returned home.
My grandmother died that night.
I don't belive in ghosts or anything like that, but I love the moon and I knowthat this name is going to be th one I will choose for my daughter.

WRITE ABOUT A HISTORICAL FIGURE THAT YOU ADMIRE

Everybody knows music bussiness is always changing; a singer that some years ago was 'the number one' now is a one-hit-wonder, but there are also someones that are still superstars.

Madonna is one of them. According to the Guinness World Of Records, she's the most succesful female artist of all time, she has the most succesful tour by a solo artist, she's who has more Top10 songs in the charts, and a lot more...

She's a provocative artist who has been a revolution and has broken all the ideas of women in music, being an example of bussiness woman: she's a singer, dancer, actress, composer, model, designer...

She has made some of the most iconic pop songs of each decade such as 'Holyday', 'Like A Virgin', 'La Isla Bonita', 'Like A Prayer', 'Vogue', 'Frozen', 'Ray Of Light', 'Music' or 'Hung Up', which is the most succesful single by a female artist according to the polls. Her performances have always been iconic too, such as when she was singing 'Like A Virgin' with a wedding dress or when she kissed Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

To sum up, she's a part of music history and she has been an influence to new artist such as Gwen Stefani, Lady GaGa or Katy Perry.
And she's still working on music bussiness.

ALWAYS TELLING THE TRUTH
Who hasn't lie sometime? We always say that we must tell the truth, but are we really honest?
In my opinion, the truth is relative. It is not the same thing talking about our friend's new haircut than talking about a crime. I thing always telling the truth is not necessary, at least not in the normal aspects of life. Because little lies can help you with your boss, your mother and even with your boyfriend or girlfriend. Another reason for not being 100% honest is that an insignifican or personal opinion can hurt other people.
But, on the other hand, if we talk about important things or bad actions: yes, always tell the truth! Because your lies will make you feel bad and you'd have to deal with your concience.
So, in conclusion I say: there is always the option of telling the truth, but is not always needed to be told.

Elena Villa Tolón dijo...

ALWAYS TELLING THE TRUTH

Always telling the truth has several reactions in people, so you have to be very careful about what you are going to say, and how are you going to tell it.

If you always tell the truth, people will trust you and won’t doubt about what you say. They won’t think that you are saying something and at the same time you are thinking just the opposite. You will be asked for your personal opinion about anything, for example, if you like Ana’s new shirt, or Isabel Allende’s new novel.

But, always telling the truth also hurts. You can’t tell that Laura’s new hair cut is horrible, because this may hurt her. You have to think a way of saying the same thing but in different words, for example, I preferred old Laura’s hair cut.

So, in conclusion, before saying anything, you have to think about it, and think about people’s feelings. Telling the truth can be a good or even a bad thing.

WHAT DISTANT OR EXOTIC COUNTRY WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT? GIVE REASONS FOR YOUR CHOICE.
I would like to visit lots of exotic countries but if I had to choose one of them without a doubt I would choose Hawaii.

Hawaii draws my attention because is one of the places that have the most beautiful beaches. It is known that Hawaii has the best beaches for surf. One of the things that I love about this country is its culture. There they have a special dance called "Hula" which is a special way to tell stories with the movements of the dancers hands. Nowadays when the students graduate, they dance Hula to celebrate it.
Hawaii is one of the places with the most beautiful sunsets, which I think that is really romantic. Another thing that I love about their culture is the way that they celebrate special days as birthdays. They call that party "Luau" where they dance all the night around the fire making tricks with it.

Definitely Hawaii is the most xotic place for me, where I like everything. I wouldn't like to die without visiting it.

WHAT MUSIC MEANS TO ME

Music is used in many different ways. Music can help toddlers who cannot hear very well, music helps people to relax. Music helps people to express their feelings.

To me, music is like oxygen. I can’t live without it. Music is my addiction. When I feel blue, I listen to some songs I know they will make me feel better. The only way I have to study maths is listening to low music. Country music always makes me feel good and forget about bad moments. When I’m studying I listen to Yiruma, a piano composer. When I’m angry, I listen to loud music like heavy, rock, metal… I almost like all types of music, except flamenco. Actually, I hate it.

Some people believe in God, I believe in music; some people pray, I turn up the radio.

First of all, when I hear music or sing, something happens to me. I can not explain, but I feel wonderful, incredible, I can not find a way to describe ir. When I hear music, when I sing, I am another person, I am free.
Te music makes me lose my fears, makes me more brave. When I am sad music helps me to smile, to be happy.
Secondly, I listen to many different music but especially dance music, musica that relaxes me. I love listen life singers, I think that it gives them more value to the songs, makes the songs brighter and more magical.
In conclusion, music is a very important part of my life, I need to dance. The music helps me in my life and he life is wonderful because there is music.

I think that we are what we dance and no one could dance without music.

What things keep you awake and why do they worry you

Nowadays, most of the people waste their time playing videogames or chatting on the net, and that is a stupid way of losing their time.

Unfortunately, I can't say I don't do the same. Videogames and computers are really addictive. But on my behalf I can say some good things too.

I love reading books and watching films. They are my addiction. I spend hours and hours reading fiction books and watching horror films, and those are some of the things I use to do at night and the kind of things that keep me awake.

On the other hand, I love going out at night too. Going to clubs and parties is great. So, summarizing, I do everything at night. Everything but sleeping.

Halloween is one of my favourite parties. Actually, it is not that I love this party. It is that I love to wear costumes. I wear them every time that I have the chance.

But I will never forget when last halloween I wore a Hermione costume. I made it by myself. I worked so hard in order to finish it on time. I've been a devil, a police woman, an octopus or even a pokemon, but the Hermione's disguise is the one that I am proud of. I had my school uniform with the Gryffindor's sign, and I made a cloak of Hogwarts. I bougth a beautiful and wonderful wand, and I also carried some of my Hogwarts books (yes, I am a super fan, so I love to collect all that stuff).

Walking on the street, people turned around to see me, because they noticed who I was. Then, I did my great arrival: I walked through the party like if I really were a witch. And, to be honest, I actually felt like if I were a little magical.

WRITE THE STORY ABOUT A BROKEN MIRROR YOU FOUND IN THE RUBBISH.

It was a rainy day. I was supposed to be at home at eleven o'clock at night, but it was half past twuelve an I was still on the street. I had been looking for something, it is just that I didn't know what I was looking for. I just felt that I was missing something, and I couldn't take this feeling out of my mind.

Suddenly, I realized how late it was, and I decided to take a short cut. If I took the dump way, I would reduce my way back home in fiveteen minutes. So, I jumped over the fence, and started to cover the path. I was lining a huge pile of rubbish, covering my nose with my fingers, when a glitter blinded me for a moment. I have always been so curious, so I forgot I was in a hurry, and started to look for th sparkle I had just seen. And there it was, a beautiful broken mirror. It wasn't very big, and it was simple. But maybe this simplicity was what made it so wonderful. And I asked my self: "Will this mirror be what I've been looking for?"

No, it wasn't. It was just an ordinary piece of broken glass, but it reminded me that sometimes the most beautiful things, the things that we need for our lifes, are in the most unexpective places, and we just have to keep our eyes open, so we can find them.

I'll never forget singing 2Hey Jude" when I was 9 in the middle of my livingroom. Or moonwalking with "BillyJean". And Queen, who has helped me rebeling myself in my teens. All these little moments that make my life perfect, there's a song for each one of them.

HOW IMPORTANT IS A BRAND NAME FOR PEOPLE YOUR AGE WHEN THEY GO SHOPPING?

We live in a capitalist world, it means that everything is valued with money, including the impression you give with the way you dress: the more expensive are your clothes, the cooler you are. According to this, brands have a strong influence among people of my age.

However, it depends on the person. For example, I don't actually care about brands. I wear clothes from Adidas (but buying them on second-hand clothes shops, because I think they are extremely expensive) because I think they are great quality and I love the desging, but I also wear imitations or clothes from street markets. This is because I don't actually care at all about those prejudices people have.

Personally, I think that the importance of brands is relative, depending on the money you have and if you care about showing it or not, but it's also true that for the majority is very important to be the coolest with your superfashion-expensive clothes.
