WHAT CAN TOURITS DO TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT?

To start talking about this topic, I´d like to say what tourism means to me.
I think that it´s a mainly economic activity that has been created to make money and where there´s money nothing else matters.
And nowadays, society has a wrong idea about how good tourism should be.
From my point of view the best tourism is the "eco-tourism" which mustn´t be confused with "nature-tourism" as this one damages Nature.
So tourists should be concerned about this.
In my opinion, tourists have to understnad that he activity of tourism won´t be developed as long as we continue with the idea that we can travel all around the world withour worrying about nature damage.
Tourists must see the tourism from another point of view of social practice and economic practice with the objective of respect and care the place that they´re visiting and at the same time maintain the resources and the environment.
So we could enjoy a real and sustainable tourism that would exist forever.

HOW COULD THE PROBLEM OF HUNGER IN THE WORLD BE SOLVED?

Well, in first place, hunger in the world is a problem really difficult to solve due to the few complications it drags such as the available amount of food that comes up to each person, and it´s getting worse every day.
But let´s see the positive side of this problem. Nowadays, technology is being developed really fast. This is a really good thing because all the advances that we get would let us plant in places where a few years ago would have been impossible.
For example, in the desert. The main deserts in the world have a really vast extension of land covered just by sand where you can´t make grow anything such as fruit trees or, simply, vegetables.
On the other hand, I think that donations from rich people are very important, because if they do that, scientists can have more resources to investigate and they will be able to find a solution for this problem.
And this is how the problem of hunger in the world could be solved.

- Write about a historical figure that you admire-

My name is Martin Luther King I´m recalled as one of the most important icons and heroe of the history of the United States for fighting for the rights of afro-american and the non-violence.

All started when I was born in USA in an african-american family, my father was a clergy man and I continued his steps, since I was a kid I was excluded because I was black. In that time the black people endured a strong racism and violence at the hands of white society. I tried to finish with this, using non violence and fighting for african-american civil Rights to create an equal society. One of my most famous accion was the march of Washington, I also won a Nobel Peace Prize and four years later I was assassinated.

To conclude, as I said one “I have a dream” and I hope that my work and my death haven´t been in vain and racism has stopped and there´s non violence but I think that this is only a dream.

-Write about a historical figure that you admire

A music figure that I admire is Amy Winehouse. She was born in London in 1984, she always knew she wanted to do something related to music, as her dad was always listening to singers like Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, ...She started to sing when she was young in a small group of rap.
I admire her because she was a great singer, and personally I think she might have been a wonderful person too.
She had always been herself, that's it, she showed herself as she was, with problems, but with an incredibily amazing voice. The thing is, why people just see her as drug addict, and not as a singer? She marked a before and an after in the music world, didn't she? It's sad to see that we are dominated by the media and society, and when someone shows how it really is, it's "killed" with critics.
We cannot be ourselves, Do we have to be as society wants us to be? No thanks.

-What would you propose to improve society if you were an influential politician?

Nowadays everybody knows that Spain's political situation is serious, so if I were a politician I would try to make a good political system where everyone could live better than now not depending on each person´s status.

For This purpose, I would do several things. First of all I would decrease taxes and make them proportional to each one's salaries. I would also try to increase the number of jobs and therefore reduce the unemployment. Another measure would be to try to reduce the number of evictions because in my opinion everyone must have a house. In addition, I would reduce politicians' salaries.

To summarise, I think that if I were a politician i would try to be better than the ones who are now in the government or I tried to be better proposing good measures for everyone.

"Smokers should not receive free health care."

So many people think that smokers should not receive free health care. However, I disagree with it.
In the first place, we are all humans and everybody have the same rights. I think the ones who should punish are the goverments, making the tobacco companies raise the prices and consecuently the consume will decrease. Despite the smokers are hurting their health, they pay their taxes and that money goes to public health care.
The people who complain this said that smokers have more risk of suffering sickness, such as lung cancer, because they are causing it and that's why they shouldn't have free health care, but, in my opinion, the health care is for use it when you need it, not for having it just in case.
To conclude, I think everybody should have free health care.

-Write about a trip you're organizingwith a group of friends to spend a few days in the mountains.

Hi everybody,

I'm writing to you to tell you about the trip we are going to do this Christmas holiday. Finally we have decided that we are going to climb the Aneto.

The week will be the first week of the holiday from Monday 24th to Sunday 30th. I think it is the best week because people celebrate Christmas and there won't probably be too many people in the mountain. I've booked train return tickets for all, because are cheaper than plane tickets. It costs fifty euros per person.

I've been finding out about the zone and i've chosen two possible routes. I'm going to send you both and you have to write me back next week to tell me which one you prefer. Personally, i prefer the first one. It consists of seventy kilometers, in this rute we can see the lakes of Coronas and some glaciers, and all along the way there are some refuges where we can sleep. We'll need to bring a sleeping bag, a good boots, and warm clothing.

Call me if you have some questions about the trip.
See you soon.

Elisa.

“SMOKERS SHOULD NOT RECIEVE FREE HEALTH CARE.”

One out of three people between 16 and 24 years old smoke. Smoking causes a reduce in lungs capacity and can cause lungs cancer. Despite of this tobacco is legal and smoking is no banned. Smoking directly affects people’s health and that´s why some people believe that smokers should not receive free health care.

Nowadays health care in Spain is free and the only private system is for business. Health is also regarded In the constitution as a basic right and this is my first reason why smokers should receive free health care. The second one is that no one is forced to smoke. If someone smokes is because he or she wants/ likes. Smokers have also got their rights and excluding them from free health care is discriminating them, even more if the disease is from another part of the body not lungs.

Because of this I believe this is not a rational believe even though it will be a perfect excuse for some people to cut smoking.

- What would you propose to improve society if you were an influencial politician?

Now, in a lot of countries a democratic system exist and althought politicians say that people have the power buy it isn't true. Today politicians have too much power, they are the ones who make the important decisions about society, politics , economy, etc. I belive that some politicians only think about themselves. Everyone knows that politicians promise many things but they don't comply.

If I was an influencial politician I'd try to change some things. For example problems as poverty and unemployment. I'd give money to companies to research and develop new inustries and create new jobs. About crime, robberies and other ways of breaking the law I'd never condemn anyone to death penalty but I'd apply the same penalties to everyone, even if they are famous or important people of the country.

But the most important , if I was an important politician I'd treat everyone equally. All have the same rights, but today politicians think that for some pople to live well, many people have to live in poverty.

Alejandro García Fdez. de V. -- What distant or exotic country would you like to visit?

There are a lot of countries that I want to visit, but I want to visit Egypt especially.

I like very much the culture and architecture of the ancient Egyptians. When I was five, I read books about Egypt and mithology. Also I studied Arabic for five years and I would like practise it with natives, but Egyptian's Arabic is not the same that Classical Arabic. I also studied the hieroglyphic writing during a time.
Egypt is a country full of ancient secrets and wonderful stories about kings and gods.

Finally, to sum up, Egypt is the country that I want to visit before I die, and if I found any of those secrets, I would be happy the rest of my life.

What distant or exotic country would you like to visit?

I would like to visit many countries, not only one in particular because I like travelling and I like discovering new cultures by meeting people from those countries, but if I had to choose one, It would be Canada.
In my opinion, Canada is a really beautiful country. I have been there twice before, but I would like to go again. I have been there in winter and in summer and both seasons impressed me a lot. If you go to Canada in winter you will find a very snowy country with temperatures between -5 and -15 ºC. But if you go in summer you will find a totally different country with a lot of green areas, parks and festivals. In summer, Canada is a very lively country.
Apart from the beautiful landscapes it has I love Canada because of the people. They are, in general, really kind and nice persons. There are people from near everywhere, from South America, from Europe, from Asia or from India, and It makes Canada different. There is a mixture of cultures that makes you feel comfortable and being part of an amazing society.
In conclusion, if I had the opportunity to go there to live, I would go without doubt because Canada has everything I like and I would look for in a country.

"Should teenagers have their own computers in their rooms?"

Computers are not use just for playing, chatting, looking up funny videos in youtube, etc. Everybody knows that computers are very useful to work and to study.

On the one hand, nowadays technology plays an important role in our lifes. For example, in my school there are teachers that often use computers in their classes, and they have webs in which they upload exercises for us and where you can ask them if you have some doubts. Because of this i think it is necessary for teenagers to have their own computers.

On the other hand, some teenagers can not concentrate with a computer in their room, and they use it to play and have fun. But it is not the computer's fault, they must be more responsable and they should separate the study time to the play time.

In conclusion, every teenager should have their own computer giving it a responsable use.

"WRITE ABOUT A PARTY WHERE YOU WERE WEARING A DISGUISE"

Every year a summer celebration is organised in my quarter. A lot of neighbours meet up to prepare different activities for children and grown-ups during the day.
When i was seven, some neighbours organised a costume competition. My friend, Javi, convinced me to participate in it. I knew it was impossible for us to win because there were a lot of children in my neighborhood who were going to take part in it and who probably were going to wear stunning disguises.
Javi decided to wear a tiger disguise, he really looked like a real tiger. In this time i used to watch "Pipi Longstocking" on TV, it was one of my favourite series, so that's why i decided to wear a Pipi disguise. We went to the competition just thinking of having a good time, without any expectation, but when the moment of annonce the winner arrived, the woman said -Elisa López!-. I nerly died of shame because everybody was watching me but i was also very happy, it was amazing. Finally i picked up the prizes and Javi and i went home to play with them.

"Write about a Halloween party or any other party where you went wearing a disguise."

I have gone to many parties where everybody was wearing a disguise, not just Halloween parties. I will not ever forget my friend’s birthday, it was three years ago…

She was turning fifteen and my friends and I decided to dress up like “Where’s Wally?” It was very funny. We bought a lot of white t-shirts, red sprays and black glasses. We painted the white t-shirts with the red sprays to make the white and red striped t-shirt that Wally wears then we put on the glasses, so we looked like Wally. We took her with her eyes closed to a restaurant and when she arrived we were waiting her with a big banner that said “Where you looking for Wally?”.

It was a great dinner dressed as Wally and we had so much fun. She said it was the best birthday ever.

"What distant or exotic country would you like to visit?"

I love travelling, I would like to visit many places to learn about their cultures and their way of life. Every country is different but I have a special interest on Australia.

I have dreamed to visit Australia since I was ten years old, when my father travelled there with some friends. When he came back home, he showed me many pictures and I thought it was a beautiful place. My interest on it increased when he told me about how nice and polite Australian people are.
I started investigating about this wonderful country and I discovered that there is a huge variety of flora and wildlife species, when I say this most people just think on the kangaroos and koalas but you can’t imagine the subacuatic wildlife in the Great Barrier Reef. It is the best place for scuba diving and I love scuba diving as my father does.

In conclusion, I think Australia was made for me, it has all the things that I like and I hope to live there when I grow up.

"Write about a Halloween party or any other party where you went wearing a disguise."

In first place, we have to start from the statement that I don´t really like disguises or getting dressed up in Halloween.

But, a few years ago, my friends and I went to a Halloween party where we had a really good time making new friends and laughing as much as we could. As well, while we were walking in the streets, we saw more people dressed up like us,so it was a stunning experience.

We started in the afternoon by getting sweets, so we went door-to-door looking and asking for them with the famous "Trick or Treat". Most of the people just accepted our proposal with a smile, but the ones who did not received their "punishment", which was really light and nothing to care about.

At night, and when we had so many candies in our bags, we decided to go home to let them in, and so on, we went to the party with so many disguised people as us.

That was the best Halloween day I have ever had.

"Write about a Halloween party or any other party where you went wearing a disguise"

Last summer I went to a summer camp like all summer I remember, doing the camp councelor course. My friends and me spent the morning doing the theorical classes and the afternoons and nights, we worked with the kids.

Each night had a different theme and different games. When the "Pirate night" arrived we had to dress up like pirates and help the kids to find the treasure. We did not have a lot of things to make a costume, so I used a grey T-shirt to cover my head like a pirate. I wore denim shorts, a big white and orange stripped tank top and sneackers. FInally my friends made me up with some scars and black eyeliner and eye shadow.

My group of little girls won the game and they found the treasure. It was not a party, just one more night at the camp, but my girls and me had such a good time that I consider it a party.

DO YOU THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TO RECYCLE?

As i see it, nowadays recycling is one of the most important things that we have to include in our lifes to not contribute to the global warming and to take care of the enviroment.

I think that recycling has a lot of adventages. On the one hand it helps to reduce the pollution and the amount of waste. On the other hand we can help to keep natural resources like water, minerals and wood, for example using recicled paper.

Also, recycling supposes a saving of money, because apart from separating rubbish, we can use our imagination and give things, that we think are not useful or we went to throw out, another use.

Personally, i desagree with people who do not recycle because they think that isn't useful if everybody doesn't do it, but we must start recycling and convince the other ones.
